BLACK GIRLS CODE: THE SERIES is a unique documentary web series that will highlight the importance of introducing young girls of color into technology.  Why is this important?

Because little black girls grow up being isolated, pushed and marginalized when it comes to science, technology, education and mathematics.

Because little black girls need to know how amazing they are.

Support & Join the MOVEMENT OF BLACK GIRLS CODE. They are creating the future pioneers of our generation.

Clare Fischer on Piano Jazz
Clare Fischer is best known as a composer and arranger, from large works like Extensions to great tunes like Pensativa, to string arrangements for Prince, but he was also a pianist of great depth. We gathered his Pacific Jazz trio recordings into a Mosaic Select set some years ago. This 2001 episode of Marian McPartland’s Piano Jazz on NPR offers some more examples.

On behalf of everyone here at scinerds, thanks for giving us such a wide audience to share science, inspire learning, and hopefully give a good voice to the subject matters presented.

Thanks for being here to learn from us, and expect a lot more science! And always remember, learning is one of the most important things anyone can do for themselves — so keep doing it!

Our bodies are comprised of a vast array of elements, with oxygen, carbon, hydrogen, and nitrogen remaining the most abundant. But there are many other chemical elements present!  The figure above lists each element that has been isolated from the human body in the order of decreasing mass.
This chart is based on the work of Ed Uthman, who derived the data from The Elements, by John Emsley.
